Left Handed Blade (70 cm)

This scythe blade is one of the few left handed blades available and the only one that Schroeckenfux makes. At 70 cm long, it is a general purpose grass blade. Left handed blades are rare because when it was common practice to mow in teams, it was too dangerous to have a left-handed mower in a team of right handed mower – something like being the only car driving in the wrong direction on the freeway!

The Schroeckenfux grass scythe blades that we sell are well suited to the high silicon content of the Australian native grasses as well as the softer imported grasses. This blade does not have a stone tip like the other grass blades.
